Testimonials
Christopher Cooke
“Ron Smolarski did a great job calculating the economic damages from the perspectives of lost economic opportunity and life care planning in a product liability and degloving amputation case. His expertise allowed the jury to understand the degree and extent of my client’s severe injuries, rendering a verdict of $27 million that compensated my client for his damages. Ron made himself available after hours during the course of the trial to answer my questions, which was very beneficial to the success of the case.”
George E. Potter
Attorney at Law
“Ron’s assistance in helping me prepare cross-examination was superb. He provided the most thorough job of evaluation I’ve ever seen from any rehabilitation consultant and made a major difference when it came to destroying my adversary’s case.”
Geoffrey Rettig
Attorney at Law
“Analysis was very in-depth. The depth was what made the difference. It made the case viable in the eyes of the skeptical adjuster. A true expert in his field. Unbiased and objective.”
J. Dallas Winegarden, Jr.
Attorney at Law
“Mr. Smolarski’s powerful presentation makes the case try itself as far as damages are concerned. He’s a superb Expert Witness.”
Wendy Schiller-Nichols
Attorney at Law
“Mr. Smolarski made a difference in my case that settled for over a million dollars. He was very experienced, professional, and testified well. I would definitely use him again in the future in my personal injury cases.”

Personal Injury Attorneys/Lawyers

Services
Our consolidated damages model brings together these areas of expertise:
Life Care Planning
A life care plan accounts for the entire medical cost trajectory after an injury, whether the injury is catastrophic or more limited in scope. Each element within the plan specifies the item required by your client, why it is required, how often it will recur, how long it will be needed, and estimated costs.
Learn MoreFuture Medical Cost Projections
For matters heading toward mediation or settlement, a future medical cost projection is frequently the more practical document. Unlike a comprehensive life care plan, this format can proceed without input from multiple disciplines.
Learn MoreFunctional Capacity Evaluations
This assessment establishes the physical scope of what an individual can do, with particular attention to their behaviour under sustained and competitive exercise.
Learn MoreVocational Evaluations
Beacon Rehab delivers vocational evaluations in the form of plainly written, well-structured reports, accompanied by qualified testimony for depositions and trials.
Learn MoreOur Expertise Supports These Types of Cases
Mr. Smolarski’s vocational assessments inform:
- Personal injury cases
- Matrimonial legal support services
- Pediatric injury cases
Recurring conditions include:
- Amputations
- Brain injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
- Burns
- RSD/CRPS (pain)
- Transplants
- Cerebral palsy
- Brachial plexus
- Head injuries
Our Methodology & Process
Every assessment is built around a worker trait factor analysis covering all 24 worker traits documented by the U.S. Department of Labor. Mr. Smolarski supplements that foundation with input from treating physicians, therapists, and other specialists connected to the individual, ensuring the final report reflects a complete picture.
Two formats are available. The first, suited to mediation or settlement, is a shorter assessment that requires a smaller budget. The second, suited to depositions and trials, is a longer and more detailed document that requires a larger budget.
As your consolidated damage expert, Mr. Smolarski personally conducts your vocational evaluations, functional capacity evaluations, life care plans, and forensic economic evaluations, removing the burden of coordinating with multiple separate specialists.
The Importance of Vocational Evaluations
In personal injury damage calculations and divorce proceedings alike, Mr. Smolarski’s analysis of working capacity, transferable skills, and earning potential influences how the case is resolved. He examines the impact of a disability across each of the 24 worker traits identified by the U.S. Department of Labor, and compares pre-injury function with post-injury function to produce an accurate picture of the vocational damages.
What Does a Vocational Evaluation Look Like?
The scope of the evaluation matches the demands of your case. Components may include:
- An accessible and easy-to-understand vocational evaluation
- Qualified expert support available for deposition and trial
- A summary of damages reflecting employment access, transferable skills, and a vocational quotient
