Testimonials
Christopher Cooke
“Ron Smolarski did a great job calculating the economic damages from the perspectives of lost economic opportunity and life care planning in a product liability and degloving amputation case. His expertise allowed the jury to understand the degree and extent of my client’s severe injuries, rendering a verdict of $27 million that compensated my client for his damages. Ron made himself available after hours during the course of the trial to answer my questions, which was very beneficial to the success of the case.”
George E. Potter
Attorney at Law
“Ron’s assistance in helping me prepare cross-examination was superb. He provided the most thorough job of evaluation I’ve ever seen from any rehabilitation consultant and made a major difference when it came to destroying my adversary’s case.”
Geoffrey Rettig
Attorney at Law
“Analysis was very in-depth. The depth was what made the difference. It made the case viable in the eyes of the skeptical adjuster. A true expert in his field. Unbiased and objective.”
J. Dallas Winegarden, Jr.
Attorney at Law
“Mr. Smolarski’s powerful presentation makes the case try itself as far as damages are concerned. He’s a superb Expert Witness.”
Wendy Schiller-Nichols
Attorney at Law
“Mr. Smolarski made a difference in my case that settled for over a million dollars. He was very experienced, professional, and testified well. I would definitely use him again in the future in my personal injury cases.”

Services
Our one-stop damages approach involves the following areas of expertise:
Life Care Planning
A life care plan captures the full cost of medical care following an injury, catastrophic or otherwise. The document lays out what your client will require, the frequency of each need, the purpose behind it, the duration, and the price, projected across their lifetime.
Learn MoreFuture Medical Cost Projections
Attorneys preparing for mediation or settlement often find future medical cost projections more practical than a comprehensive life care plan. This format doesn’t require the multi-disciplinary coordination that a full plan requires.
Learn MoreFunctional Capacity Evaluations
A functional capacity evaluation quantifies what the individual is physically able to do and how their body performs under the demands of a work setting.
Learn MoreVocational Evaluations
Beacon Rehab offers vocational evaluations delivered as clear, readable reports, along with reliable testimony suitable for depositions and trials.

Our Methodology & Process
The anchor of any assessment is a worker trait factor analysis that examines the full set of 24 worker traits published by the U.S. Department of Labor. Beyond the trait analysis, Mr. Smolarski reaches out to treating physicians, therapists, and other professionals connected to the individual so that the resulting report is complete and reliable.
For mediation or settlement work, Beacon Rehab provides a shorter vocational evaluation at a lower cost. For deposition and trial preparation, the report expands into a comprehensive document that requires a larger investment.
Beacon Rehab works as your one-stop damage expert. Mr. Smolarski handles vocational evaluations, functional capacity evaluations, life care plans, and forensic economic evaluations himself, so your legal team does not have to manage several external experts.
The Importance of Vocational Evaluations
When it comes to personal injury damage calculations and divorce proceedings, Mr. Smolarski’s evaluation of working capacity, transferable skills, and earning potential often shapes the outcome. Mr. Smolarski documents how a disability affects each of the U.S. Department of Labor’s worker traits, then compares the individual’s pre-injury and post-injury function to produce a clear summary of vocational damages.
What Does a Vocational Evaluation Look Like?
Every evaluation is scaled to fit the case. These assessments may include:
- Expert vocational assessments documented in clear, straightforward reports
- Reliable assistance for depositions and trials
- A damages summary that illustrates access to employment, transferable skills, and a vocational quotient
